Independence Day Amritmahotsav Celebrations
Ashoka Group of Schools, Ashoka Marg celebrated the 75th Independence Day with a lot of enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
As per the school tradition, the Chief Guests of this event were our ISC School toppers Om Dhake and Nandini Agrawal. The Guest of Honour of this event was Col Anand Mahadevan, a pass out of the prestigious National Defence Academy 1988 batch second generation Gunner Officer. He has served across the length and breadth of the Country including Counter Insurgency operations in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and North East. The presence of such a decorated veteran army officer lended an intense patriotic vibe to the event.
They unfurled the Tricolor and the day commenced in the reverberations of JAI HIND, JAI BHARAT. The event continued with various patriotic performances by Ashokites. Col Anand Mahadevan addressed the audience and spoke to the students about the innate values they should inculcate and follow to be a true Indian. The armed forces background that he shared motivated everyone to serve the country with passion, grit and determination.
On this patriotic occasion of the Amritmahotsav, Ashoka Group of Schools, Ashoka Marg also announced the launch of their project 'Bharat - Ek Khoj'. This project is a yearlong initiative by our school to celebrate the 75 years of India's Independence. The activities and events in this academic year will be aligned to the theme of discovering India. The picnics, field visits, etc. of the students will be arranged at places of national and historic importance. The Annual Art Fest, Sports Day and much celebrated Excellence Day of the school will also be focussed on this theme. The yearly school magazines, Mimansa and Yuvarth, will also reflect the theme of patriotism and our country in their articles. Another important aspect of this campaign was taking 75 seeds of indigneous trees native to India that will be germinated by our students into saplings. These saplings will then be donated to the society at large by our students.
