Value Talk by Grandparents (2019)
a. Mr.Gadakh: "Respect is not demanded, but earned". Being the need of the hour and to imbibe the value RESPECT in our kiddos, a value talk by one of our grandparent, Mr. Arvind Gadakh, was organized for the students of grade III. He enthralled the session discussing his real life endeavours and his life experiences which composed a great ingredient in him called RESPECT. The young minds developed a sympathetic attitude towards the learning of the session. The kiddos also obliged Mr.Gadakh and the principal to showcase respect to each and every person they come across as well as their fellow students. b. Mr. Katariya: “Treat people the way you want to the treated" Respect, also called esteem, is a feeling of appreciation or admiration towards an individual, group, community or a specific action and behaviour it conveys a sense of admiration for good or valuable qualities; and it is also the process of honouring someone by exhibiting care, concern, or consideration for their needs or feelings.. It is important in our society today that we give respect to others in order to gain respect from them To inculcate these thoughts (values) in our students, a value talk was conducted for Grade IV & V. To enlighten our children with these values our Hon'ble Chairman Sir Mr. Ashok Katariya sprang a surprise on our students. He interacted with the kids and made them understand about the values of respect given to the parents. He insisted on the importance of respect given to mothers who really take care of the family as a whole. Also made our children understand the value of respecting her by helping her in her household work. He urged each student of the school to cultivate respect for others. This session of value talk made our children understand the importance of respect. "Respect is not only a great manner, but it determines our nature and behaviour". The purpose of this value talk was to enlighten and awaken our students thought about 'Respect'. All in-all it was a valuable event with full of respect. c. Mrs. Thakur: “Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do." To inculcate the value of ‘Respect’ among the students, Ashoka Universal School invited Mrs Pushpalata Thakur, retired Principal of NMC School and winner of Rashtrapati award, to speak on it. She was very lively and connected instantly with the students. She gave examples that were easy for the students to understand and relate. The session was conducted for grade I & II. The children promised to honour and be considerate of the differences between each other. The session ended with a prayer and a vote of thanks by the Principal, Mr. Amitabh Garg.
