Ashoka Education Foundation has been accredited as a 'Registered Space Tutor', by the national space agency- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
As a registered space tutor, the organisation would be engaged in promoting space science education and its awareness among students.
Ashoka Education Foundation is among the 28 organisations to have received this recognition from ISRO, during the launch of this programme on August 5, at its Headquarters in Bengaluru.
Ashoka Education Foundation initiated a project ‘Ashoka Astronomical Observatory’ in 2014 by setting up Hi-tech facility that enables leading age observation by offering astronomy based educational programs, modern observatory, and access to state-of-the-art instruments and technology to the students. The inclusion of educational concepts based on astronomy and space sciences with reference to the school curriculum through activities, sessions, tutorials and modules has been made possible under the project.
ISRO aims to collaborate with educational institutions/ start-ups/ NGOs involved in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) activities to promote Space education. The mechanism leverages these agencies to utilise the education material prepared by ISRO and conceive innovative and activity-based education for the student community.
Space Educator Er.Apurva Jakhadi who is an Advisor to Ashoka Group of Schools, and Mr.Dilip Thakur-Head of Ashoka Astronomical Observatory & Physics Dept. accepted the letter & signed the MoU with ISRO.
It is a matter of pride for the Institution, and also in line with the dream of Chairman Shri Ashok Kataria, who alongside Shri Shrikant Shukla- Secretary , Mrs.Astha Kataria-Managing Trustee, Principals & Heads, Teachers of all the three campuses congratulated the efforts taken by the entire team.
