Field Visit - Grade III (2019)
Students of Grade III visited the area in AUS, where solar panels are installed. Solar panels are devices that convert light into electricity. A solar panel is a collection of solar cells which are made up of photovoltaic cells. Lots of small solar cells spread over a large area can work together to provide enough power to be used. The more light that hits a cell, the more electricity it produces. At AUS, Ashoka Marg, there are 438 solar panels which are attached to 7 inverters, which in turn convert DC Alterative current which is used in the school. The extra units generated are sent to MSEB. Hereby, the students understood how solar energy can be harvested and used and gave them an insight of electricity is generated from a renewable source of energy.
