International Yoga Day & World Music Day Celebration 2019 - 20
“Yoga for Harmony and Peace” 21st June, was celebrated as the fifth International Yoga Day. As the Theme says the students at Ashoka Universal School learnt the importance of yoga in daily life and how it is beneficial for stability of mind and body. The pre - primary students wore white kurta pyjamas to symbolize peace as they practised yoga asanas and meditation. Mother parents of Sr. Kg were invited for yoga session along with their children to inculcate the habit of practising yoga at home for children’s peace of mind. The primary section got to learn the significance of Yoga Day and practised a session of Yoga and meditation conducted by Mrs. Dipti Joshi. This activity explained the importance of harmony between mind and body that is gained by Yoga and the power of Meditation. “Music at the Intersections” Students of Ashoka Universal School celebrated World Music Day today. The students observed the musical trends that have evolved through years. Students of Pre – primary section explored various musical instruments by playing them and understanding the rhythm which helped them to know about the beat sense. Also the students of Primary section performed on two different music forms i.e. classical and western which was conducted by our Music & Percussion educators Mr. Rahool Gangurde and Mr. Kailas Gurav. The activity concluded by a Musical Bandish performed by both the educators. This activity helped the children to explore the world of music and to gain the knowledge of rhythm and composition.
