Session on World Day against Child Labour 2019 - 20
'Children shouldn't work in fields, but on dreams' is International Labour Organisation’s theme this year. Students of Ashoka Universal School Sinnar observed World Day against Child Labour today. The students were shown a short movie to raise awareness about the plight of child labourers worldwide and also that hundreds of children drop out of school every year to help their parents to earn a livelihood. Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that more than 200 million children are engaged in labour today globally. The students realised how fortunate they are to get the best education and are privileged to enjoy basic human rights. This activity aptly raised their Emotional Quotient and they committed themselves to fight against this social evil.
